IS QURAN MIRACLE OF ALL TIMES?

“Verily, We have sent down to you (O Muhammad) the Book (this Qur’aan (Quran / Koran)) for mankind in truth. So whosoever accepts the guidance, it is only for his ownself; and whosoever goes astray, he goes astray only for his (own) loss. And you (O Muhammad) are not a Wakeel (trustee or disposer of affairs, or guardian) over them”[Surah (Chapter of) al-Zumar 39:41 – English interpretation of the Quranic Verse]

A BIG QUESTION
First Part
I always thought how Quran is for all the ages because whenever I read its urdu translation,it was just a simple and rather irregular sentence(urdu) for me.But in the historical events of age of Prophet(S.A.W),it is mentioned that many Arab scholars and poets tried to compete with it but they failed. They themselves declared that it could not have been a human work.It was a challenge of ALLAH ALMIGHTY declared in the Holy Quran.
Verse 2:23 "And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides God, if your (doubts) are true.

Verse 17:88 "Say: 'If the whole of mankind and Jinns were to gather together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they backed up each other with help and support.'"

After reading such facts ,I thought that as I m not aware of Arabic language,so it is difficult for me to understand the quality of Quranic Arabic and when the renowned non muslims scholars and poets declared it to be master piece and some Super being’s work then it is the truth. So it cleared the concept in my mind that how it was a miracle for the age when Prophet(S.A.W) was alive.

Second Part
Then came the age when the Quranic Laws were implemented as the constitution of a state in most part of the world.Due to that Islam was spread by leaps and bounds.Muslims ruled most part of the world for almost 1000 years.Non Muslims were truly inspired by the teachings and laws of Quran about every day life.Surely, the fruit of it was seen in such a way that thousands and thousands of people accepted Islam. But today’s critics (ignoring facts and figures) claim that Islam was spread by sword neglecting the reality that if this had been true, there wouldn’t have been a single non muslim left in Islamic states.

Third Part
But whenever I pondered over today’s era, where Muslims are lagging in scienctific and other fields, how come we can make assure non muslims that Quran is word of ALLAH ALMIGHTY.Obviously each and every person can’t learn Arabic and judge the quality of Quranic Arabic.Howcome the Quran is for all ages, for all people of all times.A BIG ?

Then I started reading the works of modern type of scholars like Dr.Zakir Naik and Ahmad Deedaat in the light of modern science.I call them modern type of scholars because the way they are representing Islam is the need of the hour. And with the passage of time, my question was answered. The astonishing scientific facts explained in Quran like
• motion of planets
• shape of earth
• water cycle
• formation of clouds
• formation of honey,
• creation of human
• embryological stages
• formation of mountains and their stabilty
• creation of earth
• earth quakes
• Brain the thinking part
• Existence of iron
(and the list goes on and on) etc opened my eyes and it answered my question why Quran is an evergreen book. For axample
STARTING FROM THE FIRST LINE
The first verse of Quran
Al ḥamdu lillāhi rabbi l-'ālamīn "Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds."
contains a scientific fact. For long I read it like an ordinary sentence.I was astonished when I understood the meaning. Here the word “ALAMIN” means “worlds” including things we havent seen which indicates Angels, jins, other galaxies and solar systems like the one which has earth. And we know that our solar system and planets was described in a mathematical way in 17th century. And other solar systems, galaxies black holes are recent advancements of science.Imagine QURAN mentioning the existence of other worlds 1400 years ago.

One couldn’t have imagined that the theories and facts which are being proved by science now were mentioned clearly 1400 years ago in Quran. The theories which first contradicted the Quranic teachings are now proved in accordance with it.Not a single established scientific fact has been proved in contradiction to Quanic verses. And we know that today most of the scientific realities are discovered by non muslims. That is way Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world.Even the west is now thinking over to implement the Quranic laws and punishments to obtain the best results for their social lives.Almost 80 % part of Quran is proved in accordance to established science. The remianing 20% science doesn’t support it neither contradicts it.Surely science has not reached upto that stage to check and confirm the remianing portion. The day is not far when science would be able to prove the rest.
“Verily, in the heavens and the earth are signs for those who believe.” (Quran 45:3).

CONCLUSION
No doubtedly,Quran is the word of ALLAH ALMIGHTY.The time is itself proving this claim.ALLAH ALMIGHTY says

“Verily, We, it is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’aan (Quran / Koran)) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption)” [Surah (Chapter of) al-Hijr 15:9]

Now it is our duty to understand the teachings of Quran, implement them in our lives and spread the truth.May ALLAH ALMIGHTY guide all of us to right path.
”We have made it (the Quran) easy to understand and in your own tongue (language) may you take heed.”

FLY-EXAMPLE FOR THOSE WHO THINK

“Verily, in the heavens and the earth are signs for those who believe.” (Quran 45:3).

The last thing that might come to mind is that we can find antibiotics on the surface of flies. over a thousand years ago, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "If a fly falls down to your vessel, drown it then remove it, for one of its wings has the ailment and the other has the cure," [narrated by Al-Bukhari] Through this Hadith, it has been clear that a fly has bacteria in one of its wings and has the antibacterial defense in the other wing.
WHAT NON MUSLIMS THINK?
People of other religions found it somehow strange and difficult to believe that Muslims drown the fly into their food as they considered it something unacceptable. They believed that flies carry only diseases, and drowning it into food or drink is an unreasonable action. Although flies live on decayed food and garbage where bacteria, germs and microbes exist, Allah made the miracle on the right wing of the fly. He, the Almighty, creates the antibiotics that help annihilating all these viruses.
WESTERN RESEARCH
In Australia, a team from the Department of Biological Sciences, Macquarie University, worked on a research to prove that flies have remarkable antimicrobial defenses. The team's leader, Dr. Joanne Clarke proved this discovery through a number of experiments.

"Our research is a small part of a global research effort for new antibiotics, but we are looking where we believe no-one has looked before,” said Dr. Clarke, who presented the team’s findings at the Australian Society for Microbiological Conference in Melbourne.

She added, "We are now trying to identify the specific antibacterial compounds which will be chemically synthesized from the surface of the flies."

Another researcher from Tokyo University, Dr. Juan Alvarez Bravo confirms that in the near future "people will be astonished to find that flies are being used as antibiotics in the hospitals."

He also assures that scientists are working on the flies to get a number of effective remedies for different diseases.

Working on this theory, scientists found that getting the remedy from flies is strange but acceptable in science. Other researchers from the United States are trying to find anti-pathogenetic ways from the flies. They also note that having the cure from the flies will be something reasonably acceptable by people the coming few years.

Researchers from Auburn University discovered a kind of protein in the saliva of the fly with ability to help recover wounds and cracked skin. Likewise, researchers from Stanford University discovered a fly substance with ability to strengthen the immunity system in human beings.

According to scientists, there is a big similarity between the heart of a fly and that of a human being, prompting them to use flies to produce a medicament for the human heart diseases.

Again, many scientists agree that flies carry lots of diseases but never get infected because of the antimicrobial defenses found in one of their wings.

A laboratory technician Dr. Abdulhakim al- Qobati pointed out that "this is a heavenly miracle from Allah the Almighty to put the disease and the cure in a tiny creature such as the fly."

He also clarified that the fly is a simple way to transfer diseases due to the environment that the fly used to live in. Allah Creates both the remedy and the disease in the two wings of this fly to show His Supreme Power, explained al-Qobati.
EXPLANATION
When a fly has various harmful bacteria, it needs something defensible to continue its survival and that is why Allah creates the antibacterial supplies in its body. A fly puts its saliva into food as soon as it touches it. The fly makes some movements by its limbs from its head to its mouth to put the bacteria. Through these movements, it transfers the microbes and germs to food.

Researches and scientists proved that in the flies' stomach there are some parasites in the form of circular cells. These cells contain of a specific enzyme. In no time, those cells spread out to the surface of the fly through the joints of its stomach. Due to an inner pressure of each cell (caused for example by drowning the fly), it explodes and results its contents in a form of a liquid spray of this enzyme which has strong properties and abilities to dissolve all microbes. By drowning the fly, the inner pressure of the cell is occurred, so the enzyme will come out and kill all the bacteria caused by the fly and this is why Islam demands drowning the fly.

The discoveries of modern researches have been revealed in the Holy Qura'n long ago, "O men! Here is a parable set forth! Listen to it! Those on whom, besides Allah, ye call, cannot create (even) a fly, if they all met together for the purpose! And if the fly should snatch away anything from them, they would have no power to realize it from the fly. Feeble are those who petition and those whom they petition!” [Sura al-Haj, verse 73]

Hundred thousands of flies' types exist in the universe; however, just ten types share us living in our houses. The female fly lays down more than hundred eggs in the dung of some animals or in the garbage. After one day, the larva comes out and feeds by the surrounding environment. Two weeks later, they become full-grown flies. In four generations, one fly can lay down 1.5 million eggs, but fortunately, the majority dies due to weather circumstances or becomes food for birds and other insects. Maximally, a fly can live for sixty days.

IS SMOKING HALAL OR HARAM?

Under Islam good things are allowable while bad things are forbidden. Islam calls on its followers to remain strong and not to allow their strength to be weakened by smoking and other harmful habits which pose a menace to the health and the mind and induce a state of stupor and addiction.

A REAL HAZARD
Smoking is a real hazard, not for being an intoxicant because it is not, and not simply on account of being a costly practice with dangerous effects on health but also because it is habit-forming. Once addicted the smoker cannot hold himself back from smoking for long intervals. There is another equally dangerous side to smoking. It is a simple practice and spreads quickly, and one can easily indulge in it at any time.
MEDIACAL EFFECTS
Recent medical findings have revealed that smoking poses such hazards to the respiratory tract as cancer of the lung, cancer of the larynx and chronic bronchitis, as well as cardiac thrombosis and cerebral thrombosis.
In the case of the digestive system smoking contributes to the development of cancer in the lips, the mouth, the pharynx, the oesophagus and the pancreas. It is also associated with peptic ulcers. The urinary tract can also be affected. Such hazards as benign and malignant tumors of the urinary bladder and kidney cancer are associated with smoking.
Effects of tobacco smoke
Tar in cigarettes coats the lungs and can cause lung and throat cancer in smokers. It is also responsible for the yellow–brown staining on smokers' fingers and teeth.

Carbon monoxide in cigarettes robs the muscles, brain and blood of oxygen, making the whole body — especially the heart — work harder. Over time this causes airways to narrow and blood pressure to rise, and can lead to heart attack and stroke. High levels of CO, together with nicotine, increase the risk of heart disease, hardening of the arteries and other circulatory problems. A first-time smoker will often feel dizzy and sick.

Light’ or ‘low tar’ cigarettes
Research has shown that there is little difference between the amount of chemicals inhaled by people who smoke ‘light’ or ‘low tar’ cigarettes and those who smoke regular cigarettes. People who smoke ‘light’ cigarettes have the same risk of developing smoking-related diseases as people who smoke regular cigarettes.

Immediate effects
Soon after smoking tobacco, the following effects may be experienced:

• initial stimulation, then reduction in brain and nervous system activity;
• enhanced alertness and concentration;
• mild euphoria;
• feelings of relaxation;
• increased blood pressure and heart rate;
• decreased blood flow to body extremities like the fingers and toes;
• dizziness, nausea, watery eyes and acid in the stomach; and
• decreased appetite, taste and smell.

Overdose
Although rare, it is possible to overdose on the nicotine in tobacco.

Very large doses of nicotine can result in an increase in the unpleasant effects, including feelings of faintness and confusion, and a rapid decrease in blood pressure and breathing rate.
In some cases, it can lead to convulsions and death from respiratory failure. 60 milligrams of nicotine taken orally can be fatal for an adult.

Long-term effects
It is estimated that more than 140,000 hospital episodes and 19,000 deaths in Australia can be attributed to tobacco use every year. The principal diagnoses are cancer, heart disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Passive smoking
Passive smoking can cause a number of health problems including heart disease, lung cancer and irritation of the eyes and nose. It involves breathing in tobacco smoke from other people's cigarettes: smoke that has been exhaled or smoke from the end of a lit cigarette.

50 Australians die every day from smoking, compared to 10 who die from alcohol-related conditions and 4 who die as a result of road accidents.

Tolerance and dependence
People who use tobacco tend to develop a tolerance to the effects of the nicotine in the tobacco very quickly. This means they need to smoke more and more in order to get the same effect.

With repeated use of tobacco, the risk of dependence on nicotine is high. Dependence on nicotine can be physiological, psychological or both.
People who are physically dependent on nicotine find their body has become used to functioning with the nicotine present and may experience withdrawal symptoms when they reduce their nicotine intake.
People who are psychologically dependent on nicotine may find they feel an urge to smoke when they are in specific surroundings, such as at the pub, or in particular situations such as during their lunch break or socialising with friends.
Research has shown that smoking is often associated with different roles and meanings for smokers, including the following.
• Social roles, such as enjoyment of the company of friends, the drinking of coffee or alcohol, and promoting social confidence and feelings of independence (particularly for young women).
• Emotional roles — caring for the self, such as helping to deal with stress and anxiety, weight control and providing ‘companionship’.
• Temporal roles, such as connecting the flow of events or time in the smoker's day, providing a break from work or activities and relieving boredom.
This may be why smoking is sometimes referred to as the most difficult drug to give up.
Future impact
By 2020, the WHO expects the worldwide death toll to reach 10 million, causing 17.7% of all deaths in developed countries.
There are believed to be 1.1 billion smokers in the world, 800 million of them in developing countries.
So much for the medical research on the hazards of smoking. From the standpoint of Islam we find that people are enjoined to avoid inflicting harm on themselves
And do not with your own hands cast yourselves into destruction (2:195). Kill not yourselves (4:29).

SMILE THE WEAPON OF ISLAM

What is a Smile? In Physiology , a smile is a facial expression formed by flexing the muscles most notably near both ends of the mouth. The smile can be also around the eyes. In Psychology, smile is an impulse response to some situation that consequently takes us back to the emotionally stable state (this one I coined myself). One more way to define smile is, a way of welcoming any person or thing or situation in life .
[Smile : Naturally Taught]
Many people think that a person learns to smile as he learns to speak. But there are evidences of a baby smiling in a mother’s womb. See this link [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3105580.stm]. Also we know that blind people smile too hence proving that smile is Naturally taught just as crying as naturally taught. A baby comes to this world already aware of the art of crying.
[He who smiled the most (S.A.W)]
Abdullah ibn Haarith, radi Allahu 'anhu, said, "I have neverseen any one who smiled more than Allah's Messenger." (Jami Tirmidh i )
Jarir, radi Allahu 'anhu, reported: "Since I embraced Islam Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) never refused to see me and he did not see me but with a smile on his face." ( Sahih Muslim)
[Why don’t we Smile?]
Why do we save our smiles when our Ideal (S.A.W) used to smile the most? We see that people who are religious tend to have serious faces , they hardly smile. I’ve heard people relating the incidents of lives of saints who didn’t smile their whole life. Let us change this concept. Ideal for us is the Life of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). Islam does not stop us from smiling in fact it encourages. It gives us reasons to smile. So beautify your faces with a smile. The smallest distance between two people is smile.

[What does it take to Smile?]
We hardly have to move a muscle to smile but the effect a smile has is tremendous. It can win the hearts. It can take care of very tense situations. Smile begets smile. Smile, and the world will smile back at you. Smile at the nature and the nature will smile back at you. Smile is a good way to express your pleasure. Actions speak louder than words. How often you find it so hard to express your Love for some, your pleasure on some happening. A smile would do just the thing. Like a couplet in urdu says Aansu chalak paray to kuc h laj raeh gae Azhaar e gham ka werna saleeka na tha mujhay ( Translation : Tears felt and hence saved my honour, otherwise I didn’t knew how to express my sorrow )
[Smile : An invitation to Truth]
A smile is the light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside. Everyone loves a society full of Love and Peace. Islam teaches us to build societies bases on loved and sincerity but unfortunately we are not presenting the Islam the way it should be. Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) was so kind and loving. Anyone could come and speak up his heart in front of the prophet. Prophet’s (S.A.W) smile would have a soothing effect on the hearts of the people. We have to base our society on the same principles of Love ,affection and sincerity and people will come it on their own. Let’s start building that society by greeting others, giving gifts and exchanging smiles.
[Even a Smile !]
Prophet Muhammad S.A.W said, “Smiling in the face of your brother is charity (Sadaqa)”( Jami Tirmidh i ) . Hadrat Ibn 'Abbas (God be pleased with him) relates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) observed : "The pious offspring who casts a single look of affection at his parents receives a reward from God equal to the reward of an accepted Hajj." (Sahih Muslim)
So why waste your time in frowns when Smile gives you a way to follow the Sunnah, win the hearts of others, earn good deeds and give charity.

WUDU-A BLESSING OF ALLAH(J.J)

There are three principle benefits that human health derives from washing our body. They are related to the circulatory system, the immune system and the electrostatic balance of the body.

1) Blood Circulatory System:

Blood vessels are the essential part of the circulatory system. Blood vessels resemble flexible tubing, dividing into thinner branches as the distance from the heart increases.

Various aspects of our life cause the blood vessels to harden and become constricted. If the thinner tubes in particular becomes hardened and loses their elasticity, pressure and workload upon the heart are increased. In medical term it is known as arterio-sclerosis. Sclerotic development is considered to be the basis of aging and body deterioration.

Practical Measures:

Hardening and narrowing of the blood vessels does not happen all at once, but over a long period of time. The vessels furthest from heart, such as those in brain, feet and hands, are more vulnerable to the process that begins slowly in these locations and goes no continuously with the passage of time.

Water gives rise to temperature gradient, which cause blood vessels to have a sort of exercise by alternately contraction and dilation. Hence water ensures flexibility and visor of the vessels away from the heart by dilating them when hot and contracting them when cold. It also forces nutrients, deposited in tissues as a result of sluggish circulation, back into the bloodstream by the virtue of the temperature difference.

There is no doubt, as we see when Muslims daily wash their hands, feet and face in wudu rite is really a favour to them from the creator.

2) Immune System (Lymphatic Circulation):

The lymphatic system (whose vessels are ten times thinner than those, which conduct red blood cell) keeps all the point of the body within the protection of the immune system. Any bacteria, alien object or cancer cell, which may have invaded the body is destroyed by the leucocytes (white blood cells) in the lymphatic circulation.

Thus we see that the structure of the immune system is reinforced through wudu. In fact the way wudu is performed so specifically (step by step) clearly aims at lymphatic system. The reasons are as follows:

For the lymphatic system to function properly even a single point in the body must not be neglected, which is assured by the full ablution or the Gusl. The most important center for stimulating the lymphatic system is the nasopharyngeal region behind the nose and tonsils. Washing these spots is especially ordered.

Stimulation of the both sides of the neck has great influence on the lymphatic system and is also part of wudu.

Thus we see, the lymphocytes are transported to the farthest reaches of the body and, after passing through intensive biological training, patrol each point in the body many times a day. If they meet a bacterium or the cancer cell, they destroy it. Is this not a divine blessing of the first quality?

3) Static Electricity

The body normally has balance of static electricity. However the atmospheric conditions as well as plastic clothing and the products common in our daily life adversely affect this balance. Most of us are aware of this electricity when getting out of the car or after sitting on a plastic chair. Irritability and facial wrinkles are the best known ill results, though there are many psychosomatic illnesses arising from it.

The worst influence of static electricity is exerted continuously on the small sub-cutaneous muscles (under the skin), finally rendering them inoperative, which is why wrinkles are set in.

These bad effects due to imbalance of static electricity can be simply avoided by doing the wudu several times a day. At this point many readers would have divined at least one of the reasons for the radiant appearance of those who have done wudu all their lives.

Conclusion:

Thus, it is distinct that besides above-mentioned benefits, ablution also protects from tooth decays, eye infections, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, pelvic infections and other bacterial infections.

One might say, but I normally wash my face and hand daily anyway. Let us recall, however, this as a widespread public habit /practice has a very short history (barely 70 years or so) even amongst nations who have a tendency to claim to be the most civilized in the world. However this privilege Muslims have enjoyed for more than 1400 years.
Moreover, the cleanliness based on the sort of general human rules can never be sustained with steadiness of discipline, which in Islam it has, by the virtue of its association with worship.
To be sure, the worth and significance of wudu does not end with these medical observations, as it is a favor for us from the Almighty that may include so much (medical, spiritual, social etc) we don’t know.

"…..Allah does not wish to place you in a difficulty,

But to make you clean, And to complete His favour to you, That ye may be grateful"
[Surah 5:6]

The day is not far when even the Non-Muslims will imitate the Muslim Wudu or washing before prayers. For more download the article Wudu and its Medical Effects
